The Queensland Positive Speakers Bureau also focuses on creating innovative training programs and presentations to educate everyone about the psychology issues and the latest medical aspects and treatment programs covering HIV and Hepatitis. Each year our speakers present to a broad cross section of Australian society through schools; universities; TAFES; the Forces; health care workers; doctors; nurses; community; sporting; religious and ethnic groups; the government sector and corporate world. Contracting HIV and/or viral Hepatitis can happen to anyone and knowledge is absolutely a means of prevention. Almost everyone is aware of the basic principles of prevention, but to actually have the opportunity to hear real life stories and ask questions first-hand, is so much more powerful and makes a profound difference to our views and assumptions of everyday people we come in contact with.
The Queensland Positive Speakers Bureau provides speakers with:
- Training opportunities and the development of new skills
- A full range of techniques to ensure each speaker or panel of speakers adheres to quality assurance and guiding principles
- A support network; improving confidence, motivation and wellbeing
- A comprehensive range of educational resources - including the latest medical information and treatment programs
- Acknowledgement of speaking engagements via remuneration
- The opportunity to raise awareness; to bring our communities closer; to share stories – to truly make a difference!
